4th Annual Bay Area Nutcracker Guide for 2013

We’ve published our 4th Annual Bay Area Nutcracker Guide for 2013 listing Nutcracker performances throughout the San Francisco Bay area.

The Nutcracker has become a Christmas tradition for both families and ballet companies.  The annual Nutcracker Guide  makes it easy to locate a Nutcracker performance with a listing the performances by city (in alphabetical order) the performing company’s name, the dates of their performances and if the ballet company offers a cast party whether it be called Sugar Plum Fairy, Sweet Treats or Sweet Dreams.

In addition, each company  is linked to a performance page which lists the individual performance information including date, time, ticket cost, location and links to the ballet company’s web site.

Earliest performance dates: Nov. 29  by the Pacific Ballet and Contra Costa Ballet companies.

Latest performance dates:  Dec 29, 2013 by the Terracotta Prince (Nutcracker) and San Francisco Ballet.

Least Expensive: Rachel’s Ballet on Dec 6 & 7, 2013 – Free
Most Expensive: San Francisco Ballet -  $425 for box seats

Most Unusual Interpretation: The Terracotta Nutcracker (or Terracotta Prince) featuring the Dalian Acrobatic Troupe which will be performing in San Jose at the California Theatre from Dec 18 – 29, 2013. The Jewish Nutcracker  re-imagined version with a Jewish interpretation with characters right out of the story of Hanukkah which will be performed Dec 6 – 8, 2013 at the Children’s Creativity Museum in San Francisco.

Most Popular Days for Performance:  Dec 14 with 26 followed by Dec 7 with 24 and Dec 21 with 23.
