New Homes at Orchard Park

I recently had the pleasure of attending the VIP opening of the new homes at Orchard Park San Jose.  The homes were beautiful and I promise to share some info about them later in my post, but first…

Location, Location, Location

The first thing I fell in love with at Orchard Park was the location. Because I cover some many events for Celebrate-Family, I have a long list of family fun events at my finger tips and my kids and I are constantly on the go. So the fact that one can easily jump on the 880, 680, 101, 87, and 237 just floored me.

This also translates into great access to the North San Jose area where a number of companies are building offices and Technology Park just off the 237 near CA Great America/Levi’s Stadium. This location is also less than 10 minutes away from the Bart station under construction in Milpitas.

What’s in walking distance of Orchard Park San Jose?

A park which is located at Orchard Park San Jose, walking/bike path, grocery shopping at the SF Market, City Sports Club, Five Guys and other restaurants are all located within one block of the homes and the San Jose Municipal Golf Course is across the street.

What stores and fun, are within 5-10 minutes of Orchard Park San Jose?

Costco (Automation Highway) with a gas station; San Jose Main Post office, Milpitas Library (open on Sundays), The Great Mall (shopping, dining, movie theaters, Dave & Busters); Indian and Asian ethnic dining and shopping district near Lundy and Murphy; San Jose Flea Market; San Jose Municipal Golf Course; Bart Station in Milpitas (under construction); Alviso Marina County Park (maybe 15 minutes); and Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge (maybe 15 minutes).

Community vs Complex

The New Home Company (the developer) impressed me with their concept of building not just a complex or development but instead a neighborhood.   There is a park with play structure in the front of Orchard Park San Jose and a beautiful common rec building with full kitchen, fire places, both indoor and outdoor patio seating and grill. A walking/biking path meanders through the landscaping and the the traffic flow is designed to leave open spaces so that neighbors can socialize and kids can play.

Flats, Courts, Towns – Something for Everyone

Orchard Park San Jose offers a mix of home types, flats, courts and towns which makes it easy for extended families to live close to one another and still have the type of housing that best fits their needs. Each of the home types offers at least 4 different floor plans.  Beautiful bedrooms, large walk-in closets, exquisite kitchens with lots of room for family and friends to gather.  But for me, it was the balconies.  I could easily imagine myself having dinner or snacks outside, watching the sun go down, while saying hi to my neighbors and watching my kids ride bikes and play with friends.
