Santa Clara County Jr. Ranger Program

Time to sign up for the Jr. Rangers at Santa Clara County Parks. Free for 9 - 11 years. Get your child outside to hike, explore park history and nature.

This post was most recently updated on June 21st, 2018

Does your child like to hike? Are they curious about Nature? Or would you like them to be?  Sign them up to become a Jr. Ranger!  Spring programs begin April 11, 2018.  Applications are due no later than April 1, 2018 (10 days before) but why wait?  Register your son/daughter now.

The Junior Ranger Program is a great way to get your kids outdoors and into a free, safe, and fun program! Programs take place in several County Parks each spring and fall for kids ages 9-11 (usually 4th-5th grade). Junior rangers explore park history and nature through outdoor adventures with park staff. Students who successfully complete the program earn a badge and certificate! Graduating junior rangers are invited to a free overnight camp out (June 2-3, 2018)  with program staff. Become a Junior Ranger!

Even if you can’t make this program you can still share the outdoors with your kids.  Click here to view and download the Junior Ranger Discovery Guide  and if you have a 4th grader handy, take advantage of free admission a National Park, Federal lands, or Waters with the Every Kid In A Park program.

Also, I did not see a requirement that kids be residents of Santa Clara County.
