Teacher Opportunities for the Maker Faire 2014

The Maker Faire arrives in the Bay area May 17 & 18, 2014 and there are several programs still available for teachers & educators.  I’ve listed a few below but you should visit MakerFaire.com for complete details, coupons and complementary tickets.

Educator Community Connection: Sign up for news, offers, free tickets and more.  Get newsletters with resources and easy and inexpensive activities.  Not a classroom teacher? Any group of 15 or more may apply for an additional 15% discount on ticket prices.

Join the Teacher Team for Complimentary Tickets.  Apply ASAP.  Deadline was April 20th but the form and link are still active.

Join or Start (or Affiliate) a Young Makers Club: If you’d like to share your students’ maker projects at Maker Faire, then the Young Makers may be that perfect program for you. To be a part of the Young Makers exhibit space sign up your club or school as an affiliate and complete the form for each project you plan to exhibit.

Bring Maker Faire into Your Classroom. Connect live with Makers online with Maker Connections. Visit a Maker in his or her workspace, watch a wacky performance, or get a behind the scenes look at Bay Area Maker Faire 2014’s setup.

Get Hands-On. Along with virtual field trips, Make will share resources through the educators community newsletter for easy and inexpensive activities so you can bring making into your classroom.

Attend the Educator Meetup. Maker Ed is targeting both formal and informal educators, particularly those in Title 1 public schools or at youth serving organizations that serve low-income populations. The application deadline has past for 2014 so sign up the newsletter to get details for 2015. Not a classroom teacher? Any group of 15 or more may apply for an additional 15% discount on ticket prices.
